Jolyn Garidan Prieto is a skilled government relations and public affairs professional with a strong background in labor advocacy and legislative policy. With over a decade of experience in public affairs, Jolyn has played pivotal roles in shaping legislative initiatives and policies that impact labor rights, public safety, and social justice. Before joining Watanabe Ing LLP, Jolyn served as UniServ Director, Leeward District for the Hawai‘i State Teachers Association, advising and supporting educators on policies, collective bargaining, and workplace issues. She also spent nearly a decade with the Hawai‘i Fire Fighters Association, advocating for important legislative initiatives and strengthening relationships with government officials. Earlier in her career, Jolyn worked in similar capacities with other local organizations, providing legislative advocacy and support, as well as at the Hawai‘i State Legislature as a Legislative Researcher and Committee Clerk.

In addition to her professional work, Jolyn is dedicated to community service, volunteering with organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association - Hawai‘i Chapter and the Hawaiian Humane Society, and serving on the board of directors for Aloha Harvest. Reflecting her commitment to leadership and community impact, Jolyn was selected to be a part of the Pacific Century Fellow’s Class of 2022.
